ABOUT THE ROOT

For the sports fanatic, we trust that you will find an appreciation for our thoughtfully and meticulously designed space of approximately 40,000 square feet, which will host a wide-range of events in our community both now and in the years to come.  This section of the facility encompasses highly innovative sports equipment and is essentially comprised of two sides:

One half of the sporting complex displays stunningly crafted hardwood flooring by Robbins Sports Surfaces and will accommodate sports such a basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. The dimensions of this area translate to three regulation size basketball courts which can also be converted to three regulation size volleyball courts or nine regulation size pickleball courts.  The other half, so to speak, contains an 85’ x 180’ turf field which is enclosed by an immaculate system of glass walls and dasher boards by Cascadia Sport Systems. The turf field will encompass sports such as soccer, flag football, and lacrosse, and is practical enough to be considered a multi-use space for events such as dodgeball tournaments or high intensity training practices.

In addition to the indoor portion of the facility, The Root also sports three outdoor sand volleyball courts. Members and guests may participate in tournaments and leagues or simply enjoy the beautiful Appalachian landscape surrounding our spacious outdoor patio area. Did we mention you can also indulge in an adult beverage (or two) while you’re visiting/spectating? Yes, you heard us right! During limited hours, adults 21 and over will have access to a variety of craft beer, seltzers, and wine which can be enjoyed on our outdoor patio or inside our stylishly designed lounge.

Within our building, a few additional amenities include locker rooms with showers, a concession area, a multi-use room, and a large mezzanine with spectacular viewing opportunities for all indoor sports.

At The Root, we offer membership options or single day drop-in fees for individuals, couples, and families, ensuring that an all-inclusive, accommodating environment is provided to both adults and children. Whether you’re a Gallia County native, a neighboring county resident, or an out-of-towner, you can trust that it is our number one priority to guarantee you feel our deep-rooted (pun intended) sense of community every time you step foot through our door.
